SHUT-OUT product lineAbloy Security Inc. has recently expanded the product offerings of the SHUT-OUT® series. The series, which now include SHUT-OUT® Hasps, SHUT-OUT® Puck Locks, the SHUT-OUT® Shield and the SHUT-OUT® Safeguard, has been developed to provide a complete vending security solution in order to provide secure asset protection. The SHUT-OUT® line includes general purpose hasps and puck locks as well as products specifically designed for the vending and bottling industry. All products are built to resist physical attack and environmental conditions. The series includes four hasp models that are constructed of cold-rolled steel providing strength and environmental durability.

Fortinet has launched the FortiGate-620B multi-threat security appliance. With the introduction of security-specific ASIC network processors previously reserved for high-end products, the FortiGate-620B sets new performance records with 16 Gbps firewall and 12 Gbps VPN throughput. It is expandable up to 24 ports.  FortiGate-620B offers the highest port density in its class, which is the key driver behind the flexibility that enterprise companies can now have for internal network security segmentation. It integrates eight core security functions, including anti-virus, intrusion prevention (IPS), spyware prevention, anti-spam, web content filtering, traffic shaping, VPN and firewall.

MobiclearMobiClear Inc. has announced that it is purchasing three state-of-the-art security products from Bastion Payment Systems. The Bastion products include an application firewall system, a dynamic DNS request system and an anti-DDOS system. Stephen P. Cutler, CEO said
“The new products give MobiClear a significantly enhanced suite of security products, allowing it to provide security in numerous business environments, including Internet shopping, business-to-business transactions and retail shopping. We are confident these new products, combined with our existing line of products, will lead to significant business and revenue opportunities.”

Walling Data Systems, a leading AVG distributor, has announced that it has been awarded a contract with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to sell the entire AVG security product line to U.S. federal government agencies. Luke Walling, president of Walling Data said “It opens up an entirely new sales channel and is a huge vote of confidence by the U.S. government that taxpayer dollars for government information security solutions will be well spent with Walling Data.”

Norton Internet Security 2008In a recent interview with PC Magazine, Rowan Trollope, senior vice president at Symantec, discussed his vision for Symantec’s future. Among those dreams includes a security suite that doesn’t impact system performance - and might even make your computer run faster.

Trollope is hoping that Norton Internet Security 2009 will be that product suite:

“If I could create what’s unquestionably the fastest security product in the world, without compromising security features, it would be very clear to the consumer why they’d buy Norton. Performance is the focus for 2009.”
